In the quiet neighborhood of Monrovia, California, a wild bear has become a local celebrity — all thanks to his sweet tooth. Nicknamed Oreo, this brown bear has been spotted sneaking into homes and garages, not for trash or leftovers, but specifically for Oreo cookies.

Residents first noticed the bear when he was caught on security footage rummaging through a refrigerator and walking off with a pack of Oreos in his mouth. Since then, Oreo has returned multiple times, opening car doors, raiding pantries, and even exiting homes through windows — always with dessert in tow.

“He’s been getting a little too comfortable with us,” said Vine Khoury, a longtime resident. “He opened a neighbor’s car and took the groceries — that’s when he got his name”.

Despite the mischief, locals have grown fond of Oreo. His antics have gone viral, and while wildlife officials urge caution, many see him as a symbol of nature’s quirky charm.
