Part 2: “No child should be erased for money,” she whispered.

The wedding stopped right there on the church steps. The music faded. The guests stared. The bride looked from the little girl to her future mother-in-law and suddenly understood that the terror on the older woman’s face was not confusion — it was guilt.

The child explained that the woman who raised her had worked years ago in a private maternity clinic. Before she died, she confessed the truth.

The baby had never died.

The family had arranged for the newborn to disappear so that all the inheritance would remain with the son. A daughter would have divided everything. So they buried the truth instead.

The bride slowly took off her engagement ring.

“You knew,” she said to the groom’s mother. “You erased a child.”

The groom stood there speechless, realizing his perfect life had been built on a hidden crime.

The bride knelt in front of the girl and took her freezing hands into hers.

“No child should be erased for money,” she whispered.

Then she stood up, turned to the stunned guests, and said:

“There will be no wedding today.”

Snow kept falling, but it no longer looked beautiful. It looked cold and merciless, like the family secret that had just been exposed.

That day, no marriage began.

But one lost child finally came back into the light.
