Put this in the kettle and boil, the dirt will come off by itself, no need to scrub

Simple Tips to Clean Your Electric Kettle Effortlessly
After a period of frequent use, a layer of mineral deposits often builds up at the bottom and along the inner walls of an electric kettle. These stubborn limescale stains not only make the kettle look dirty but can also affect its heating efficiency. Fortunately, with a few simple household tips, you can remove them easily and keep your kettle sparkling clean.
1. Clean Your Electric Kettle with Lemon

Take a fresh lemon and slice it into thin pieces. Place the lemon slices inside the kettle and fill it with water as you normally would. Turn the kettle on and let the water come to a boil. Once it switches off automatically, leave the hot lemon water inside for another 10 minutes.
Because lemon contains natural citric acid, it helps break down stubborn mineral deposits without the need for harsh scrubbing. Finally, pour out the water and rinse the kettle thoroughly with clean water.
For a stronger cleaning effect, you can gently shake the kettle so the lemon slices can scrub against the interior walls.
2. Clean with Baking Soda

Start by adding a small amount of baking soda to the kettle. Next, pour in a little beer along with a few cups of warm water. Close the lid and boil the mixture as usual.
When the kettle turns off, pour out the liquid and rinse again with clean water. In just a few easy steps, your kettle will look shiny and refreshed. Baking soda helps neutralize odors and loosen residue, making it ideal for older kettles with more stubborn buildup.
3. Clean with Vinegar
First, rinse the kettle with water to remove any loose debris. Then, mix water and vinegar using a ratio of 2:1. If your kettle has thick limescale, you can increase the strength by mixing equal parts vinegar and water.
Turn on the kettle and let the mixture boil. After it reaches a boil, switch it off, pour out the liquid, and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Vinegar is one of the most effective natural cleaners, helping dissolve limescale quickly and leaving your kettle odor-free.
4. Clean with Potato Peels
This method is especially useful for new kettles. After bringing home a new kettle, place a handful of potato peels inside, fill the kettle completely with water, and boil it. Then discard the water and rinse again.
Potato starch helps prevent residue from forming on the kettle walls and keeps the interior smooth.
For older kettles that already have buildup, you can add potato peels or a few slices of potato and boil them. As the water heats, the starch softens the limescale, making it detach easily.
5. Clean with Crushed Eggshells
When cooking, save your eggshells and wash them thoroughly. After drying, crush them into small pieces and place them inside the kettle. Fill the kettle halfway with water, turn it on, and let it boil.
While the water is heating, stir the mixture gently with chopsticks a few times. After boiling for about 5 minutes, pour everything out and rinse the kettle.
The rough texture of crushed eggshells works like a mild abrasive, helping scrub off stubborn stains without scratching the surface.
If some mineral deposits still remain, put a soft cleaning sponge inside and use a chopstick to press it against the inner surface and rub lightly. Because the deposits have already softened, they will come off easily. Simply rinse the kettle with clean water afterward.
=Keeping Your Kettle Clean for Longer
To maintain your kettle in good condition, you can repeat these cleaning methods every 2–4 weeks, depending on how often you use it and the hardness of your water. Regular cleaning prevents thick buildup, ensures quicker boiling, and prolongs your kettle’s lifespan.
