Man, 28, Passes Away Suddenly After Doctors Discover 72 Irreparable Holes In His Lungs

A GoFundMe has been created to support the grieving family of 28-year-old Dylan Jay Watts, whose unexpected and heartbreaking death has left everyone who knew him reeling and searching for answers.

Dylan, who lived in Moruya on the New South Wales South Coast in Australia, sadly passed away on March 15. He was just 28 years old.

His younger sister, Caitlyn Watts, wrote on the GoFundMe page that Dylan had been battling a severe lung infection. He was also a father to an eight-year-old boy and had been facing an incredibly tough health battle in the weeks leading up to his passing.

Doctors eventually discovered a devastating diagnosis—Dylan’s lungs were filled with 72 holes, which they said would never heal. Medical staff told him he’d be “lucky” if he made it to 30.

Caitlyn expressed her heartbreak with the words: "There is a fragility in all of us, his memory and his story will be remembered by many who loved him and he will be forever missed."

"Let this be a reminder that those you love can be gone in an instant so hold them close today and tell them you love them."

Dylan’s mother, Suzanne Coote, also opened up publicly about her loss. She shared heartfelt photos of her son on Facebook along with a message that read: "My family was torn apart last week. My son Dylan, left this cruel world, too young.Too fast. He was very sick with a rare lung condition. His quality of life was deteriorating fast. We never imagined he would pass away suddenly, three days before he turned 29."

"He was a kind, sensitive, loyal man. An inquisitive delightful boy, and always my baby. Forever Young - No Regrets."

In another post, she shared an update saying the family was getting closer to bringing Dylan’s body home. She also shared the fundraiser link and took a moment to thank everyone who had contributed.

Suzanne mentioned again that the family is still looking for answers surrounding how everything progressed so fast.

"We are still searching for answers as to why this progressed so quickly. My son is the light in my life, the strength in my stride and I am his voice," she wrote. "We want to give him the memorial he deserves. A special event where we can all come together and celebrate his life."

The GoFundMe page, which was started by a family friend, added this: "Although Dylan had been unwell, this has of course come as a shock to his loved ones who are now having to deal with not only their grief, but the stress of having to organise his farewell."
