She stared at the man walking toward her.

The little girl looked between them, confused and terrified.

“Sweetheart,” he said gently, “give me the watch.”

“No! Mommy said only the lady in gold could have it!”

Daniel slowly stood back up.

Then he looked directly at Veronica.

“She deserves to know who really destroyed Eva.”

Veronica’s tears spilled instantly.

“Stop…” she begged quietly.

But Daniel stepped closer.

“You abandoned your own sister to protect your reputation.”

The entire restaurant went silent.

The little girl’s eyes widened.

“Sister…?” she whispered.
