PART 2 — The Truth They Tried to Bury

The mansion felt colder now.

No music. No laughter. Only silence and shaking breaths.

Ethan stood frozen, staring at the woman in front of him.

“Clara…” he whispered again, like saying it louder might make it real.

The housekeeper stepped back.

Her voice was barely steady.

“Don’t say that name.”

The boy clung tighter to her.

“Mommy, why are you scared?”

That question broke something in the room.

Vanessa turned sharply.

“This is insane! Ethan, she’s just a maid—”

“STOP.”

Ethan’s voice cut through the hall like a blade.

Everyone froze.

He took another step forward, eyes locked on the woman.

“Clara died,” he said slowly. “I buried her.”

The woman’s lips trembled.

“Did you?”

A long silence.

Then she reached into her pocket.

And pulled out a hospital bracelet.

Ethan’s name was on it.

So was hers.

And the child’s.

The truth hit like thunder.

She wasn’t a stranger.

She wasn’t a maid.

She was the woman erased from his life.

Before Ethan could speak—

The boy suddenly pointed at the grand staircase.

“Mommy… that man is back.”

A shadow appeared at the top of the stairs.

A man Ethan recognized instantly.

Someone from the night everything fell apart.

Someone who was never supposed to be alive.

Clara whispered one sentence:

“He found us.”

Ethan stepped forward—

“Who found you?”

But the boy suddenly screamed:

“Daddy, don’t let him take Mommy again!”

The lights flickered.

Footsteps echoed.

The man at the top of the stairs smiled…

And slowly said:

“She was never yours to begin with.”
