A woman, trying to get rid of her mother, left her on the side of the road and simply drove away; but the daughter could
not even imagine what would happen very soon
The woman stood by the window, looking at the yard where nothing had changed for a long time. The same trees, the
same benches, the same people passing by without noticing her. At that moment, her daughter entered the room.
— Mom, get ready, — she said almost without emotion. — I’m taking you somewhere to rest. You need a change of
environment.
The elderly woman looked at her in surprise, but a spark of hope appeared in her eyes. It had been a long time since she
had heard anything kind from her daughter.
— Really? Where are we going? — she asked quietly.

— Get out, — she said coldly.

Her hands were shaking, but she still dialed a number.
— Hello… — she said quietly, trying to steady her voice. — It’s me… I need help…

— Aunt? Where are you? What happened?
She didn’t tell everything at once. She only named the location and added quietly:
— I’m alone… on the road…
Within forty minutes, an expensive car pulled up beside her. A man in a formal suit stepped out — her nephew, whom she
hadn’t seen in many years. He quickly approached, gently took her by the shoulders, and looked into her eyes.

— My daughter…
