Serena & Venus Williams to Launch New Video Podcast on Social Media
Serena and Venus Williams Swap Tennis Rackets for Microphones in New Video Podcast Launch
Serena and Venus Williams are stepping back into the spotlight — but this time, the sound of serves and volleys will be replaced by the sound of their voices. The legendary tennis sisters have announced the launch of their brand-new video podcast, set to debut this August on X, formerly known as Twitter (Variety).
The podcast, which will feature both Venus and Serena as co-hosts, promises to offer fans an intimate look into their world. Through unfiltered conversations with innovators, creators, and cultural disruptors, the sisters aim to inspire, entertain, and challenge listeners to think differently.
“We’re so excited to be launching our new podcast — a place where we will share our personal stories, have authentic conversations, spotlight important topics, and laugh a lot,” the Williams sisters said in a joint statement. “This platform gives us the chance to engage directly with our fans who have supported us throughout our careers, and we’re thrilled to connect with audiences, old and new, in a way we’ve never done before.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
According to Variety, the podcast will explore themes that go far beyond tennis, delving into topics such as resilience, representation, and empowerment — all central to the Williams sisters’ lifelong mission to break barriers both on and off the court.
The project is produced by Nine Two Six Productions, Serena’s media company, which previously partnered with brands such as Nike and Amazon Studios to create empowering, women-led content (ESPN). The show will premiere exclusively on X before expanding to other major audio platforms later this year.
Serena teased the upcoming project with a playful message on X:
“The world’s not ready for the real conversations @Venuseswilliams and I are going to pull out on our podcast. Don’t be scared… This isn’t just tennis — it’s our unfiltered truth.”
With a combined following of nearly 12 million on X, the sisters are no strangers to commanding global attention. Known for their blend of charisma, confidence, and candor, the Williams duo are expected to bring their trademark humor and honesty to the mic, offering fans a front-row seat to their lives beyond the baseline.
From the public courts of Compton, California, to center stage at Wimbledon, Venus and Serena have built legacies defined by perseverance and power. Together, they’ve captured 14 Grand Slam doubles titles and three Olympic gold medals, while individually rewriting the history books. Serena holds a record 23 Grand Slam singles titles in the Open Era — more than any other player, male or female — and Venus made history as the first woman to secure equal prize money at Wimbledon in 2007 (The Guardian).
Beyond their athletic achievements, both sisters have become cultural icons and entrepreneurs. Venus has built a fashion and wellness empire through her brands EleVen and Happy Viking, while Serena has ventured into venture capital and entertainment, championing diversity in business and storytelling. Their podcast marks yet another evolution of their influence — this time, in the growing digital media landscape.
“Venus and Serena have never been afraid to speak their minds,” said sports journalist Howard Bryant, author of The Last Hero. “Their new podcast is a natural extension of their journey — two women who have used every platform available to redefine what it means to be powerful, Black, and female in sports.” (ESPN)
As anticipation builds, one thing is certain: this won’t just be another celebrity podcast. It’s a front-row seat to authenticity — laughter, vulnerability, and sisterhood — from two of the most influential athletes of all time.
Or as Serena put it best: “This isn’t just tennis. It’s our truth.”
